It was a crisis that came out of the blue.

RSPCA Inspector Stuart was shocked to find more than 100 animals on one property.

As many as 91 of them were small, dogs or puppies—Poodles, Bichons and Shih-Tzus. Native animals were also found locked away.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. I knew straightaway that we’d be seizing most, if not, all the animals because you couldn’t leave them in those conditions,” he shares.

A puppy breeding operation had spiralled out of control and become a tragic case of hoarding. There were animals in cages, on shelves, and in cupboards.

Some of them were so matted they were barely recognisable as dogs. They were in constant pain from eye, ear and skin infections.

The smell was overwhelming. A hardened layer of animal faeces, dirt and urine covered the floor. The conditions were a breeding ground for infections, parasites and infestations.

Large-scale rescues like this put the whole team under almost unimaginable pressure. Please donate today to help cover the costs of the vet treatment and care- every single dollar makes a difference.

Large-scale rescues are on the rise. Puppy farming, cost of living increases, and animal hoarding are all factors.

When the next call comes, please help answer it.

A tax-deductible gift could help provide emergency vet care so an animal like Maisie can recover and start a new life, surrounded by the love they deserve.

"More than 100 animals—all needing urgent vet treatment. It was unbelievable, and we only had a short time to prepare. That’s why your support is so important. We can only provide the care animals need with your help"
