MAX NEEDS SURGERY!

HELP COVER MAX'S SURGERIES!
Max was surrendered to RSPCA Victoria with his bonded friend Charlie, when their owner could not provide the care they needed. Our vets discovered that poor Max had previously fractured his right hind leg and been left without veterinary intervention!
X-rays showed that without medical treatment, Max’s fractured leg healed at the wrong angle, causing it to be unusable and splayed outwards.
After careful evaluation, RSPCA Victoria vets determined that Max requires an amputation of his right hind leg. Without surgery, Max would continue to struggle with impaired mobility and face serious risks like pressure sores and urinary scalding.

X-ray of Max's fractured leg
Because of his injury, Max has also been unable to properly groom himself, leading to a severe ear infection, and has an infected lower incisor likely caused by previous injury. Once he has recovered from the amputation, he’ll need a second surgery to resolve these conditions.
We expect his surgeries and aftercare costs to exceed $2500.
Max is just one of 106 shelter animals currently under vet care at RSPCA Victoria. As a community-funded organization, we can’t shoulder this cost on our own – please help us give this sweet and brave bunny the life he deserves.
After his surgeries, Max will recover and adapt to life as a three-legged bunny in a loving, volunteer foster home, before hopefully finding his forever home with best friend Charlie.

Max's leg is unusable, splayed and requires amputation.

Thank you for opening your heart to animals and contributing what you can to Max’s emergency fund.
*The goal for Max’s fundraiser includes the cost of his surgeries and other costs associated with her care. If funds raised in Max’s name exceed target, additional funds will contribute to the treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming of other animals in need.
